Home Buyer Tax Credit Extended
July 1, 2010
Good news: The Home Buyer Tax Credit has been extended!! If you are among the 14,000 people in Florida who thought your chance at the $8,000 first time home buyer or $6,500 move up tax credit had expired, you are in luck! Congress just passed the final bill that will extend the tax credit until September 30, 2010. The extension only applies to transactions that have executed contracts as of April 30, 2010 and were not able to close by the original June 30th deadline.
President Obama must still sign the bill, but that is expected to happen quickly and the transition is designed to happen seamlessly without interruption or complication. If you think you may qualify for the tax credit be sure to talk to your lender and Realtor immediately!
