Egrets Landing is a desirable gated community in Lake Mary. This beautiful community offers its residents a community pool, interactive kiddie pool (some say it’s just like a little water splash park) and playground, all at a relatively low HOA fee. Meet your neighbors on weekends by the pool and cabana and enjoy life in Egrets Landing, it’s definitely a fun place to be.

The community is located relatively close to 417 (5-7 minutes) however about 10-15 minutes to I-4 (depending on traffic). Local shopping, dining and schools are close by, however the major area mall (Seminole Town Center) and entertainment districts (Colonial Town Park and/or Historic Sanford) are a good 10-15 minute drive away. Egrets Landing has a Lake Mary address, however due to its location North of Lake Mary Boulevard, the subdivision is zoned for Sanford schools.

Something that many buyers see as a major drawback is the fact that train tracks run by in front of the community (literally in front of the gate, you actually have to look left and right before crossing). However, as with so  many other subdivisions that are located close to train tracks, this is something that only looks scary when you first look at the community. Most residents don’t even notice the train anymore. Obviously, also keep in mind that you are getting a home in this subdivision at a lower price than if the train wasn’t there and the community was located closer to major highways, dining and shopping. Remember, in real estate it is all about location!

The Egrets Landing subdivision has 223 homes and was built by D.R. Horton in the early 2000s. Current prices (2009/2010) in this subdivision range from the mid 100s to mid 200s. Sizes of the various floor plans range from 1,300 to 2,600 square feet.
